Revnue Input Sheet for Multiple Salespersons/Dept
Looking for an approach to configuring the Revenue input sheet so multiple Salespersons can budget sales by Customer, by Product Class, in Departments where the GL Sales Account is the same for each Salesperson's budget.
This is a migration from Forecaster where this is configured using 'dummy' departments and accounts for the Salespersons to do their budgeting and then the real department looks up the budgeted sales amounts in the 'dummy' departments and sums them into the real GL Sales Account.
Thanks,
Steve

You would probably want to create a Revenue module and create a dimension for all of the fields you listed. Then in the input form, roll the individual sales person budgeted values into the GL account. In this way, you are getting a GL summary level and a sub-ledger that will contain your detailed budget (rev per salesperson).

Thanks. Could clarify what you mean by 'roll the individual sales person budgeted values'? Would that be subtotaling by Salesperson and other fields and then summing those into the GL account?

Yes. For the salesperson subtotals, you will want to make sure that it goes into a GL account so the values in the subledger is consistent with what's in the GL.
Similar concept can be seen when doing payroll. You would have a salary per employee in the Payroll module, but you want to make sure all of the salary (regardless of the employee) rolls into the salary expense GL account.
