System Requirements: 2 GB RAM Minimum Requirement
To install Bi360 Reporting, 2GB RAM is required, but 4GB is recommended. Why?
Whether you have 4GB or 1000GB (1-Terabyte) RAM, Excel has its own memory manager and memory limitations. However, newer versions of Excel allow you to utilize much more of your RAM than before.
Excel 2007 and Excel 2010 32-bit processes are both are limited to 2 GB of memory, which means that there is a 2 GB limit on virtual memory address space. Because of things like memory fragmentation, it is unlikely that all of the allotted virtual memory can be utilized, meaning that Excel (and Bi360) may run out of memory on a 2 GB system.
Excel 2010 64-bit is allowed 8-Terabytes of memory. In this case, Solver Consulting would recommend 6 GB RAM.
